Funny how when I watched the Montauk Rocks DVD in 2013 I felt it was somehow fresh.  Yes some of the guys in their 50s had been chucking bass lures for thirty years but they looked like the pioneers. This footage from Montauk in 1956 (58 years ago) shows men old enough to be their grandfathers surfcasting with lures.

 

If those guys in the video where 50 at the time they must be dead by now. I wonder what they’d say if we could talk to them?  Well we know it wouldn't be, “I wish I’d spent more time working and less time fishing?
