As the organiser of the Bass Lure Fishing Meetup group is a bit of a pussy the bass trips are usually only held on warm summer days. Well change happens and a shore meetup was organised off Hayling Island for the 1^st Decemeber.

The start time was 06:00 and the plan was to fish the incoming tide from a number of shore marks until 10:00. As first light started to break we realised someone else down the beach was chucking bass lures and as we got closer this familiar character shouted something like, “Tell anyone about this mark and Rudolf won’t be the only one with a red nose”. Not being a 100% sure if that was a joke or a threat we decided to give him some space.

No bass caught or even a follow seen so I’m assuming they are out in deeper water or have started their migration.
