Talk with groups of bass lure fishermen and at some point you’ll hear someone say, “The Dexter is one of the best lures for bass”. Is that right or is it just that the Dexter has some advantages in certain circumstances to plugs? For example it’s cheap, easy to find, casts a long way and it can be fished deep. It’s my believe that the Dexter is at the bottom of the pile when it comes to metal lures and bass fishermen should invest a little more in lures with a better profile, colour and quality hooks as the lure shown below.
