Lure fishing for Bass
Welcome to my website and blog for lure fishing for European Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax)
Tackle House Feed Shallow
September 15, 2009

The Tackle House Feed Shallow is just one of those lures you should have in your box. Designed to run shallow, just under the surface this is one of the few lures that delivers on that promise, even with a fast retrieve it won’t go any deeper than 18 inches. But what really makes it different is the extreme action, which is so often lost on shallow lures, a very distinctive roll from side to side with a ziz-zag swim, all from a simple retrieve.
Model: Feed Shallow Manufacturer: Tackle House
Length: 128mm Weight: 18.5g (FS+ 21g) Dives: 1ft Hooks: Change them
For a relatively light lure it casts really well, aided by it’s internal weight transfer system. There is also a Plus (+) version that has three ball bearings in the weight transfer system and hence weighs slightly more, but the end result offers little difference over the standard one. A newer small version, the Tackle House Feed Shallow 105 is 105mm long as the names suggests and weighs 16g, personally I don’t think it’s as good as the 128 (the action doesn’t seem as strong) but I know a lot of people swear by them.
The build quality of the Feed Shallow is good, unfortunately the same can’t be said about the hooks, they are that bad that you may as well change them as soon as you get the lure. I tend to use them for a while until the fear of loosing a good bass forces me to change them.
