If you’re reading this it could be because you’re searching for someone who has a Shimano Rarenium CI4 1000FA in stock.  These puppies are called Rarenium for a reason and the 1000 reel is the rarest of them all.

A quality reel to be sure which even though it’s small it has the drag to tame any bass you’re likely to encounter.

Should you buy one?  After fishing with it for five months I’d say no not for lure fishing for bass.  The main issue is the limited spool capacity which just isn’t enough if you want to fish good quality 20lb braid.  I tried reducing the line strength by dropping the PE but I started losing lures that I was launching towards far off bass.

If I had my time again would I buy a Shimano Rarenium?  Yes without hesitation but I’d purchase a 2500 or 3000 reel.  If I could find one that is.
