Summer Update

November 20, 2011

So I have no excuse for not posting since May, I’ve got out fishing a fair amount not as much as I’d like though. The weather proved to be a challenge during the Summer North Easterlies and Easterlies followed by very strong South Westerlies meant the conditions you hoped for never really materialised.

June kicked off with a visit from Tom and a long weekend fishing in Dorset, conditions where tough with NE winds but we still managed some decent fish with the best going to Mark and Graham HK.

Mark with a 7lb caught off the top on a Patchinko.

As Graham was surrounded with mullet he skilfully caught this cracker off the top.

During July I was able to fish a little more, I managed to find some clear water in Kent and had a few decent fish.

Three and a half pounder for me of the rocks.

I had a great session down in Dorset with Richard (Dorset Fishing Rods), we caught loads of bass in a savage south westerly, which eventually got the better of us but only once the winds had reached 30mph.

Richard with one of the many bass he caught that day.

Back in Kent and still finding some bass

IMA Komono II scores again

Back again in Dorset and had a cracking session with Mark out on the rocks, right from the off the bass where hitting our lures, best fish came to me that day!

This one went about 5lb caught on a Komono II

What a great fight this six pounder put up, hit my Tide Minnow 175 slim at distance and instantly took line. Looks like she’s had a tough life with scars and a strange growth on the top edge of her gill plate.

August came around and apart from a big blank in Holland the fishing proved to be quite good in Dorset, Mark returned and managed 10 fish to 76cm so a trip down to meet up seemed like a good idea.

Straight horizons and focusing are not Marks strongest photographic skills

Started September with a day trip to Dorset with Graham and Dave, the fishing was fairly good and we all caught.

Tide Minnow 175 Flyer punched out into the wind does the business again.

Later in the Month Tom was over from Germany again and we spent a long weekend fishing the Dorset Coastline.

The fishing wasn’t easy but we where still catching.

Six pound Bass taken on a Gataride reeled really slowly before Sun up.

Richard got the best fish the next day, weighing in at 6lb 7oz, it put up quit a fight.

Before September was over a quick session after work on the Kent coast proved  good.

So the weather didn’t really do us many favours during the Summer months, we had to get used to fishing in Easterlies waiting for the right conditions would have meant not fishing that much but as ever we all had a great laugh and caught a fair amount of fish.
