alibi

My mate Tony and I were up early Saturday morning and heading west to Weymouth to meet up with Mark Padfield, expectations where high and as usual Mark had done his homework and put us on the fish, in-fact while he was running through a few tips with tony I’d already hooked into one on my second cast, a good bass of 4.5lbs.

The good start continued and through the rest of the morning we where on the bass, 19 in total, with seven for Mark, seven for Tony and four for me, gars and macks made an appearance too so there wasn’t a dull moment. Also managed one off the top on the Xorus No Alibi which is a massive and crazy looking surface lure.

Mark had previous commitments for the afternoon so Tony and I headed of and managed to land a few more, so thanks to Mark, we had a great day’s fishing.

Sunday morning Tony and I where out early again and as we later found out it’s best to listen to the local knowledge, because I don’t know whether it was through lack of sleep or as Mark would call it bloody laziness but we decided that the mark we had been told to go to would be too windy. So while one of Mark’s mates was bringing in good size fish and a PB where we should have been, Tony and I where struggling on Portland, although Tony did get stuck into a great Wrasse.
