Megabass X-140 SW

Megabass X-140 SW, #04 INAKKO (Baby Mullet)

I’ve never used the MegaBass X-120SW, though I had heard good things about it, but when the X-140 SW came out I couldn’t resist. Like all Megabass lures the finish is great and I particularly like this mullet colour, I’ve always done very well with the Feed Shallow 128 No. 11 (Mullet colour) and although this is a very different lure I’ve already had success with it, although they where only small bass I was experimenting because the fishing was slow, so I’m already impressed.

Described as having a High Pitch Rolling action I guess I’d have to agree, it’s not an exaggerated action, it’s tight, with not very much feedback through the rod but if you look at the lure in the water you’ll notice how well it shows it’s bottom, top and obviously sides on a simple retrieve which certainly looks attractive reflecting available light in a pulsating way. The lure casts really well, with a true flight and decent distance and swims at a useful depth of around half a metre.

140mm   Weight: 19.5g    Dives: 30 – 60cm

I certainly need to give this lure some more time in the water, which I defiantly will. As with all Megabass lures there’s a great colour range and I like the look of the GG Rainbow and the HT Ensyu Kibinago both available from Bass Lures.

The belly isn’t a plain silver but a pearlescent finish that looks really good in the water.
