Japanese sea bass congregate in the Tokyo bay area in January resulting in lots of lure fishermen braving the cold weather in the hope of a 40 pounder. This also results in lots of lures being sold and what follows is the top four bestselling saltwater bass lures in January.

The sales volume may not correspond with the types of bass lures cast as many lure boxes may already be full of other popular brands but this list does give an idea of what’s hot.

#1: The Breaded Minimaru Egi Plug is based on the squid jig.

#2: The Daiwa Over There is a great lure but our view is it’s more suited to overseas trips.
