Lure fishing for Bass

My good mate Tony got a bit of a shock today when he found out he had won Henry Gilbey’s photo competition. The winning photo (above) was from our trip to Portugal last April, we had to endure some seriously big seas, even the surfers where absent from the beaches, so you can imagine how tricky some of the rock marks where. Tony loves his bass fishing and can’t wait to get his hands on the Teklon Concept Spin 802ML that he has won, thanks has to go to Henry for running the comp (you can see Henry’s excellent web site, photos and blog here).

Keeping safe when the waves are crashing in is always a priority when fishing and it’s also nice to stay dry, I use the Palm Caspian kayaking jacket which has seals for the neck, cuffs and waist. Even when waves crash over your head the neck seal stops water ingress allowing you to stay comfortable.
